The 2026 “African Wildlife – Elephant” gold coin is part of the African Wildlife coin series issued on behalf of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The coin is struck from 1 troy ounce, or 31.1035 g, of pure gold. Its fineness is 999.9, making it primarily an investment-grade gold coin.

The reverse features an African wildlife scene with two elephants approaching a watering hole, while a zebra appears in the foreground. The design is surrounded by the inscriptions “AFRICAN WILDLIFE” and “ELEPHANT,” together with the coin’s weight and gold purity: “1 oz Au 999.9.”

The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the year of issue, and the face value of 1,000 Somali shillings. The coin is minted in Germany by the Bavarian State Mint.
