The most famous and legendary coin from the Chinese Empire is, without a
doubt, the so-called "Chinese Panda". This silver investment coin has
been issued by the Chinese Mint since 1983. Due to the annually changing
motif, the "Chinese Panda" coins are highly sought after by both
investors and collectors. The reverse of the coin depicts the annually
recurring image of the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing. This national
symbol of China has been included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage
List since 1998. The giant panda living in China is considered a symbol
of happiness and is usually associated with harmony and patience.
The
obverse of the coin depicts two pandas snuggling together. Bamboo grows
in the background, symbolizing the pandas' natural habitat. This image
emphasizes the peaceful, playful nature of these animals and symbolizes
harmony, friendship and connection with nature - values that are
firmly rooted in Chinese symbolism. The coin's weight and fineness are
engraved next to it, as well as the coin's denomination.
On the
reverse, the Temple of Heaven, which is located in Beijing, is engraved
with a Chinese inscription on the side, which means the People's
Republic of China. At the bottom, the year of minting the coin.
We
