The charming 2026 “Horse Baby” silver coin is dedicated to the Year of the Horse in the Chinese lunar calendar. The coin was struck by The Perth Mint of Australia and belongs to the collectible “Baby Lunar” series, in which the animals of the Chinese zodiac are portrayed in a gentle and playful style.

The coin is struck from 1/2 troy ounce, or 15.55 g, of 99.99% pure silver. Its highest collectible Proof quality is distinguished by a mirror-like background, frosted relief details, and carefully applied colour accents. This combination gives the coin a vivid, decorative, and highly aesthetic appearance.

The reverse depicts an adorable foal curled up comfortably in a meadow decorated with colourful flowers. A dragonfly hovers above, adding a sense of lightness and vitality to the composition. The design is completed by the Chinese character for horse, the inscription “YEAR OF THE HORSE”, and The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark. The reverse was designed by artist Natasha Muhl.

The obverse features the effigy of King Charles III. It also displays the issuing country, Tuvalu, the year 2026, the coin’s weight, silver purity, and face value of 50 Tuvalu cents. The coin is official legal tender in Tuvalu.
