The 2026 “African Wildlife – Elephant” gold coin belongs to the popular “African Wildlife – Elephant” bullion coin series. The coin is struck from 1/4 of a troy ounce, or 7.78 g, of high-purity 999.9 fine gold.

The reverse depicts an African savannah scene featuring elephants near a watering hole, with a zebra standing nearby. The composition is surrounded by the inscriptions “AFRICAN WILDLIFE” and “ELEPHANT,” together with the coin’s weight and gold purity: “1/4 oz Au 999.9.” The annually updated elephant design gives the coin additional collectible appeal.

The obverse features the coat of arms of the Somali Republic: a shield bearing a star and supported by two leopards. Crossed spears and palm leaves are shown beneath the shield. The coat of arms is surrounded by the inscription “SOMALI REPUBLIC,” the year of issue “2026,” and the face value of 250 Somali shillings.
