The highest collectible Proof quality is combined with high-relief minting technology, giving the design exceptional depth, bold forms, and precisely rendered details. Both the high-relief obverse and reverse are struck on concave surfaces, allowing the metal to flow optimally into the complex elements of the design.

The reverse depicts a majestic mare with her young foal. Both horses are shown in an energetic galloping pose, while the graceful lines of their manes enhance the sense of movement and freedom. Tall mountains and peaceful, lush meadows appear in the background. The design is completed by the Chinese character for horse, the inscription “HORSE 2026”, and The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark.

The high relief allows the horses to rise visibly above the coin’s surface, while the contrast between the mirror-like background and frosted relief elements creates a three-dimensional, almost sculptural effect.
