The 2027 Silver Lunar coin is dedicated to the Year of the Goat according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. It continues the Rwanda Lunar series, which began in 2017, which annually presents one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac. The Goat is traditionally associated with peace, creativity, harmony, patience and goodwill. The reverse of the coin depicts a stylized goat, composed of small geometric and mosaic-like elements. This design principle is characteristic of the entire Rwanda Lunar series. The composition is completed by the series name Lunar , the year mark of 2027, the Chinese Zodiac symbol and an inscription indicating one troy ounce of 999 fine silver. The obverse features the official coat of arms of Rwanda, the names of the state and the National Bank of Rwanda, the year of issue and the nominal value of 50 Rwandan francs. The coin is issued on behalf of Rwanda and has the status of an official means of payment. The coin is minted from 999 fine silver. It contains one troy ounce, or about 31.10 g, of pure silver. The diameter of the coin is 40 mm, the edge is fluted, and the minting quality is Brilliant Uncirculated. The coin is minted in Germany.
