The coin is minted from 999 fine silver. It contains a full kilogram of pure silver, and the diameter of the coin is approximately 100 mm. Due
to the large format, the relief details look particularly expressive,
so the coin is suitable not only for accumulating physical silver, but
also for a representative collection.
The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia. Around
it are the name of the state in Armenian and English, the denomination
of the coin, the year of issue, the silver fineness and weight. The
coin is the official means of payment of Armenia, but its market value
is primarily determined by the amount of pure silver and the world price
of silver.
The reverse of the coin depicts Noah's Ark floating against the backdrop of Mount Ararat. Above it is the sun, and in the foreground a dove with an olive branch in its beak flies. This motif symbolizes hope, salvation, peace and a new beginning. The design is complemented by the name of the coin in English and Armenian.
The 2026 one-kilogram silver coin “Noah’s Ark” is an Armenian investment
coin of impressive format, combining a high amount of pure silver with
one of the most famous biblical motifs. The
“Noah’s Ark” series has been issued since 2011, and the kilogram
denomination was added in 2012.
The “Noah’s Ark” coins are produced on behalf of the Republic of Armenia
by the German-based precious metals company “Leipziger
Edelmetallverarbeitung”, part of the “Geiger Edelmetalle” group. The design of the series remains the same every year, while the year of issue of the coin changes.
