The 2026 silver coin "British Lion" is dedicated to one of the most important heraldic symbols of the United Kingdom. For centuries, the lion has been associated with the English monarchy, royal power, courage and strength of the state, and is therefore often depicted on the coats of arms of Great Britain, flags and commemorative coin issues.
The reverse of the coin is dominated by an expressive motif of the British lion. The detailed relief emphasizes the strength, vigilance and majesty of the animal, and the heraldic-style composition gives the coin a classic character associated with the history of Great Britain.
The coin contains one troy ounce - 31.10 g - of pure silver. The one-ounce format is widely used in modern investment coins, as it allows you to conveniently accumulate physical silver and at the same time maintains its collector appeal.
The obverse of the coin should feature the portrait of King Charles III, the face value and the official mintage details. From 2023, the portrait of Charles III will be used on new issues of the United Kingdom's coins, replacing the previous image of Queen Elizabeth II.
The "British Lion" theme is particularly suitable for collectors of heraldry, British history and animal-themed coins. The coin can also be chosen as a symbolic gift, associated with strength, courage and leadership.
