1/10 oz (3.11 g) Platinum Lunar III Year of the Horse, Australia, 2026, 999.5 The 2026 Lunar III Year of the Horse platinum coin is part of the Australian Lunar Series III bullion coin collection. The series is based on the cycle of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac. In this tradition, the horse is associated with independence, charisma, energy and a desire for adventure. The reverse of the coin depicts a proud horse with its front hooves raised. Its pose conveys strength, balance and a free character. The composition is set against a mountainous landscape and meadows. The design is complemented by the Chinese character for horse, the inscription HORSE 2026 and The Perth Mint mint mark P. The reverse design was created by Ing Ing Jong. The obverse features a portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne. Around it are the name of the monarch, the weight of the coin, the platinum fineness and the nominal value. The coin was issued on behalf of Australia, its denomination is 15 Australian dollars, therefore it has the status of an official means of payment. The coin is minted from 999.5 fineness platinum. It contains 1/10 Troy ounce, or not less than 3.112 g, of pure platinum. The diameter of the coin reaches up to 16.60 mm, the thickness is up to 1.80 mm, and the minting quality is Bullion. The maximum authorized circulation of this coin is 15,000 pieces.
