2025 The 2025 silver coin Montserrat – Red-billed Tropicbird is part of the “EC8” collector series, dedicated to the eight countries and territories of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. Each issue in the series presents the nature, culture or its most important symbols of a specific Caribbean island. The reverse of the coin depicts the red-billed tropicbird – an elegant tropical seabird, distinguished by its long tail, light feathers and bright red beak. Red-billed and white-tailed tropicbirds are found in the vicinity of Montserrat, so the chosen motif is closely related to the nature of the island’s coastline. The expressive design of the coin depicts the bird flying over the Caribbean Sea or the coast of Montserrat. The detailed relief highlights the spread wings, long tail feathers and a sense of movement, while the background elements of the sea and island landscape convey the tropical atmosphere of the region.
