The coin is minted from 999.9 fine silver, contains one troy ounce – 31.10 g – of pure metal. It is 38.8 mm in diameter, 3.1 mm thick, and has a fluted edge. The coin is produced in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. The reverse side of the coin features the official coat of arms of Barbados. It reflects the history, nature and statehood of the island. The nominal value of the coin is 1/2 Barbados dollar, therefore it has the status of an official legal tender of Barbados. The main side of the coin depicts a stylized trident surrounded by a pattern resembling water waves. This symbol is taken from the national flag of Barbados and is associated with the country's independence, maritime history and separation from the colonial past. The trident also conveys the ideas of strength, unity and progress. The 2025 Barbados Trident silver coin is the ninth issue of the annual Trident series. The coin is minted on behalf of Barbados by the Scottsdale Mint, and its design is dedicated to one of the most important symbols of the state - the broken trident. The maximum circulation of the 2025 issue is 1,000,000 pieces. Due to the well-recognizable national symbol, high silver fineness and the series continues annually, making this coin suitable for both physical silver hoarding and Caribbean-themed collections.
