The Italian Air Force Aeronautica Militare celebrates 100 years in 2023 March.
The reverse of the coin depicts a large number 100 crossing the runway. The coin also features symbols: a pioneering airplane in the lower left corner, symbolizing the beginnings of the Air Force, and a modern fighter jet in the upper right corner, representing modern times. These elements are connected in a line by the years 1923 and 2023, which highlight the historic centenary of the Aeronautica Militare.
