Description

The obverse of the coin shows the images of four farm workers, each of them performing an activity typical of one of the four seasons: a forest cutter (winter), a sower (spring), a harvester (summer), and a thresher (autumn), next to the coin's denomination .
The reverse shows a potato with stuck straws - a traditional interior decoration of ancient Latvians. It is surrounded by images representing Latvian seasonal traditions. The names of the ancient seasonal holidays are written on the side in Latvian: CHRISTMAS, AZGAVĖNĖS, VELYKOS (ŪSIŅI, JĀŅI, MĀRAS (Ūsinų, Jāņų, Māros and MARTINMAS), as well as the names of the country that issued the coin and the year of minting.
