F.A.Q.

Investment Metals – Where Is the Best Place to Buy Them in Lithuania?

Investment metals are best purchased from licensed and trusted precious metal dealers. When choosing a seller, it is important to pay attention to product authenticity, LBMA-certified manufacturers, authorized distribution partners, the price-to-quality ratio, as well as the company’s reputation and licenses. Eurodata, UAB offers investment gold and other precious metal bars and coins from globally recognized manufacturers at competitive prices. Offering one of the widest selections of precious metals in Europe, Eurodata is becoming one of the leading companies in this field in Lithuania, representing some of the world’s best-known precious metal manufacturers.

Which Gold Is Better for Investment – Bars or Coins?

Investment gold bars are usually chosen because of their lower premium and higher pure gold content, making them suitable for long-term wealth preservation. Investment gold coins, on the other hand, may have additional collectible and numismatic value. The choice depends on investment goals and budget.

Who Are the Most Reliable Investment Gold Manufacturers?

Among the most popular and trusted investment gold manufacturers worldwide are “Valcambi,” “PAMP,” “Argor-Heraeus,” “Perth Mint,” “Royal Mint,” and “Umicore.” Gold bars and coins produced by these manufacturers are internationally recognized and commonly carry LBMA certification.

Are Investment Metals Subject to VAT?

According to European Union legislation, investment gold that meets the established criteria is exempt from VAT. However, investment silver, platinum, and palladium in Lithuania are subject to a 21% VAT rate.

How Are Gold and Silver Prices Determined?

Gold and silver prices are determined based on global market (“spot”) prices. These are influenced by supply and demand, inflation, geopolitical events, central bank policies, and investor activity. The final product price also depends on the manufacturer, weight, and dealer premium.

How Are Platinum and Palladium Prices Determined?

Platinum and palladium prices are determined according to global market (“spot”) prices. They are mainly influenced by industrial demand in the automotive and advanced technology sectors, mining volumes in major global deposits, and international supply chain disruptions. Since the market for these metals is highly concentrated and industrial demand is very specific, their prices can fluctuate much more sharply than gold prices. The final product price also depends on the manufacturer, weight, dealer premium, and applicable taxes.

Is Investing in Silver Worth It?

Investment silver is often considered a promising investment due to increasing demand in the technology, electronics, and solar energy sectors. Silver is also more affordable than gold, allowing investors to start with smaller amounts and gradually accumulate physical assets.

How Can You Tell a Genuine Gold Bar from a Fake One?

Authentic investment gold bars usually come with certificates, unique serial numbers, manufacturer logos, and original protective packaging. It is important to buy only from licensed precious metal dealers who guarantee product authenticity and quality.

Where Can I Track Gold, Silver, Platinum, and Palladium Prices in Real Time?

Precious metal prices can be tracked in real time through dedicated market chart sections. The gold, silver, platinum, and palladium price charts available on the Eurodata, UAB website allow users to analyze historical price movements and market trends over different periods.

What Are LBMA-Certified Gold Bars and Coins?

LBMA (“London Bullion Market Association”) certification means that an investment gold bar or coin meets international standards for quality, purity, and market acceptance. Such gold products are easier to sell, globally recognized, and considered a more reliable investment choice.

How Can I Be Sure I’m Buying Real Gold or Silver Instead of a Counterfeit?

When purchasing precious metals, it is important to choose licensed and trusted market representatives. Investment bars and coins should be minted by refineries included in the LBMA “Good Delivery” list, and bars should include authenticity certificates with matching serial numbers. Eurodata, UAB is a licensed dealer supervised by the Lithuanian Assay Office and therefore assumes full legal responsibility for the authenticity and quality of the products it sells.

I’m Just Starting to Invest in Precious Metals – Where Should I Begin?

When starting to invest in precious metals, it is usually recommended to begin with lower-value, globally recognized investment products. Beginner investors most often choose investment gold or investment silver in the form of coins or smaller-weight bars.

It is important to monitor gold and silver price movements, choose reliable and licensed precious metal dealers, and invest consistently according to market conditions and personal financial goals. Precious metals are most commonly chosen for long-term wealth preservation and investment portfolio diversification.

What Does the SPOT Price Mean?

SPOT price, also referred to as the market price, is the real-time market value of a precious metal on the global exchange market.

What Does Ounce or Tola Mean?

An ounce and a tola are units of weight measurement used for precious metals. Investment gold and silver are most commonly measured in Troy ounces (oz), equal to approximately 31.1 grams. A tola is an ancient unit of weight more commonly used in India and Asian markets. One tola weighs approximately 11.66 grams.

What Is Purity (Fineness) and How Is It Calculated?

Purity, or fineness, indicates how much pure precious metal is contained in a product. The higher the fineness, the greater the proportion of pure metal in the alloy. Different fineness levels are used both in investment precious metal products and jewelry, so it is important to understand their differences and purpose when choosing a product. More information about gold fineness is available.

What Are the Differences Between Gold Bars?

Investment gold bars usually differ in manufacturer, design, certification, and packaging. The chemical composition of the gold itself remains essentially the same, as investment bars are most commonly made from extremely high-purity 999.9 fine gold. The differences lie in which refinery or mint produced the bar, its appearance, and how it is presented to the market.

Among the most popular manufacturers worldwide are “Valcambi,” “PAMP,” “Argor-Heraeus,” “Perth Mint,” and other LBMA-certified producers.

A unique option is the “Valcambi Green Gold” line. This gold is sourced directly from responsibly certified mines and has not previously been used in other products such as jewelry or electronics. For this reason, “Green Gold” is often chosen by people who value the origin of gold, sustainability, or symbolic meaning, especially for engagement or wedding rings.

Can Gold Bars Be Removed from Their CertiCard Packaging?

Yes, but it is not recommended. The original packaging also serves as a certificate of authenticity, so intact packaging helps ensure the product’s origin, confirms that the bar is genuine and has not been replaced, protects it from damage, and may influence its future buyback value. Once removed from the packaging, the bar does not lose its gold value, but it may be repurchased at a lower price.

What Taxes Will I Have to Pay When Selling Precious Metals?

When selling investment precious metals in Lithuania, any profit earned may be subject to personal income tax (PIT). Currently, up to EUR 2,500 of profit earned during a calendar year is tax-exempt. If the profit exceeds this threshold, a 15% PIT rate is applied to the amount exceeding it.

It is important to note that the tax is calculated not on the total sale amount, but on the net profit, i.e., the difference between the purchase and selling price. For an accurate assessment of tax obligations, it is recommended to consult the State Tax Inspectorate or a tax specialist.

Is It Possible to View Products Before Purchasing?

Of course. However, before visiting, we recommend calling in advance to make sure the product is available in the store.
